Slang yo!

This generation is an interesting one to grow up in. New words and expressions seem to appear everyday. Everyday there is a new word I learn. Since I’ve came to college, I’ve not only learned “college terms”, but have also learned New England slang. Coming from California, I’ve never heard “wicked” used in a normal sentence before coming here. I’m use to hearing hella, sick, swag, butthurt, clutch, mob and all the other typical Cali surf/hipster slang. Here on the East Coast, nobody says that unless they visit California.

It’s crazy how only 3,000 miles can have such a different way of speaking. Texting is also very different. Many people here actually spell out “haha” when something is funny, but there, “lol” is something that is in almost every text.
